Contemporaria
On March 31, Contemporaria hosted a reception to welcome three new European collections to its modern furniture line-up. Consumers can now find cutting-edge items from Vitra, MissoniHome and Kettal in the Cady’s Alley showroom.
“Even though I believe we already had a pretty amazing collection of designers and manufacturers in Contemporaria,” says owner and designer Deborah Kalkstein, “I couldn’t pass up the historic name, design value and modern approach of Vitra; the fabulous colors and patterns in MissoniHome’s fabrics and the fashion sense it transmits to its furniture line; and the outdoor comfort, technological innovation and beautiful Spanish flair of Kettal. I feel they make our collection complete.”
The showroom displays a number of pieces from these companies’ latest collections. Vitra’s new Suita Sofa by Antonio Citterio is on view along with the playful Algue screens by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.
MissoniHome’s sculptural Petal chaise, made of plastic for outdoor use, is available along with its colorful new sectional and trademark throws. Kettal debuts its new Maia swing, armchair and Zigzag planters, among other pieces, in Contemporaria. 3303 Cady’s Alley, NW; 202-338-0193. contemporaria.com
