Overmyer Architects

Dale Overmyer, AIA

Growing up on four continents exposed Dale Overmyer to architecture of all kinds. But his family ties are what ultimately inspired him to become an architect: His grandfather was a contractor and his father was a builder and draftsman; both men imparted their skill sets to him.

Informed by classical training and 30 years of experience, Overmyer brings fastidious attention to every design problem, from macro to micro. “We are committed to solving complex problems and providing extraordinary results at sensitive sites, guided by an appreciation of their inherent beauty and heritage,” he says.

Overmyer Architects distills its clients’ style by developing a program and curating numerous images for inspiration while promoting collaboration and critical review. “We are always looking for ways to express ingredients that are unique and meaningful to our clients,” says Overmyer. Additionally, every associate in the firm is well versed in logistics and construction costs as well as in building techniques and styles.

The firm’s projects have been featured on HGTV and in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Washingtonian, Southern Accents and Coastal Living. It has been recognized with awards from the AIA Washington, DC, chapter and Houzz.
