FRENCH PANACHE  Baccarat Hotel & Residences New York, the French crystal brand’s first hotel, has opened across from MoMA. It boasts 114 luxurious guest rooms and a spa. Interiors by Paris-based Gilles & Boissier encompass a 60-foot bar graced by crimson velvet and monumental Baccarat chandeliers, and the Grand Salon, an elegant small-plates restaurant. EAST MEETS WEST  In the 1980s, a restored Thai home and ancient tea house were transported to Anguilla, where they have been incorporated into the 70-room Zemi Beach House resort as the recently opened Zemi Thai House Spa. While set in a uniquely Thai environment, treatments are inspired by the island’s indigenous culture. The Taíno Bathing Ritual, for example, slathers the body in fruits, herbs, mud and salt.
