Located in an historic Georgetown row house, the restaurant seats 35 in its Skylight Room, wrapped in wood-paneled walls. A private dining area features a mural by Bryan King depicting a dinner party in 1920s France. Michelin-starred chef Gilles Epié turns out winning dishes, from sea scallops with bone marrow and black truffle to a stellar chocolate soufflé. 2915 M Street, NW; 202-652-1855. lavantgardedc.com
