This exhibit at The Textile Museum at George Washington University displays the work of John Thomson, a Scottish photographer and travel writer who explored China during the second half of the 19th century. Thomson’s portrayals of Chinese culture will be shown beside the museum’s collection of Qing-Dynasty textiles, adding a colorful perspective to his black-and-white images.
