Andrea Houck blends creativity and practicality in her designs. Whether her clients are professionals with active kids or empty nesters who love to entertain, she approaches every project from a problem-solving mindset. “Your home should make life easier—and make you smile,” Houck contends. “With that philosophy as our guiding principle, we create spaces that are beautiful, functional and soulful.”

Houck developed a passion for the creative process at an early age. After majoring in fine arts, she earned her chops as an advertising art director before launching her full-service design firm in 2000. “I sought the challenge of taking 2D concepts to the 3D world,” she reveals. “I’ve always loved mixing materials, textures and colors. Applying that skill and passion to a client’s vision is very rewarding.”

Honed over the past 24 years, Houck’s thoughtful process ensures that each design is tailored to the clients’ specific needs and preferences. “At the beginning, we dig in deep by asking the right questions,” she notes. “Our process yields highly personalized results, as our diverse portfolio shows.”

For projects ranging from new construction to decorative makeovers, Houck orchestrates every step along the way with precision and flair. “We help to ease decision-making stress and guide the entire journey, all while working from a foundation of trust,” she says. “Our busy clients appreciate our project-management expertise and attention to detail, as well as our respect for their budget.”

Houck’s work has appeared in numerous publications, including Home & Design, Flower Magazine, The Washington Post and Arlington Magazine. Houck has participated in DC-area show houses benefitting Children’s National Health System. She shares her passion on her blog, Creating Spaces.
