After a few years working for internationally recognized interior design firms, high school friends Joe Ireland and Julie Weber founded their own firm, JDIreland, in 2002. Like high-tech disruptors of the time, the twenty-somethings sought to break away from business as usual and offer a more dynamic, down-to-earth approach. “Instead of a one-note, rarefied sensibility,” Ireland reflects, “we wanted to offer premium design and abundant creativity—without ego.”

From day one, the duo fostered a culture of creativity, transparency and collaboration—values that their seven-person firm continues to embrace today. “We work tirelessly to understand who our clients are and how they live,” explains Weber, the firm’s managing director.

Deeply inspired by the physical world, the team forges a connection between homeowners and their surroundings, balancing art, beauty and comfort while respecting the integrity of the interiors. “In designing a home, we strive to incorporate art, not only via fine art but also in the finishes and furnishings we select,” says Ireland, the studio’s creative director. “Everything we do is tailored to the client and the way they live.”

The designers cultivate lasting relationships with artisans and craftspeople, who help elevate every project with bespoke finishes and furnishings. The end result is a home that is beautiful, comfortable and fulfilling to inhabit. As Weber reflects, “We want clients to see themselves in our designs.”
