Kristin Peake Interiors has evolved since it was founded in 2000, but the humble approach developed by principal Kristin Peake in the beginning, based on trust and respect, has not changed. The firm completes projects ranging from one-room redesigns to whole custom homes. “Our goal is to provide a concierge level of service, to exceed expectations from the initial consult to the final walk-through,” Peake says. “We create a special place where children can grow and family members can play out the  stories of their lives.”

Peake and her team feel that the most important qualities of a well-designed home are day-to-day functionality; a layered material palette; and a sense of who lives there. “In the first meeting, I pay  attention to what the clients want, how they live, what is important  to them,” Peake explains. “As a mother of teenage girls, I understand how the needs of families transition over time. I stress the  importance of each family member having his or her own space, and of there being ‘family’ space where everyone can interact.”

Peake’s designs often reflect a tone-on-tone, neutral, less-is-more  aesthetic that is both practical and beautiful. “Every room is  designed with thought and detail,” she observes. “The details are what make the difference.”
