Laura Fox Interior Design was founded in 2015; currently, owner Laura Wolff (nee Fox) spearheads a team of four—with clients ranging from empty nesters who want to entertain and single parents craving a safe and inviting home for their kids, to devoted “paw-rents” with pets of various sizes. “I have two toddlers and a dog,” Wolff shares. “Life in my world gets messy and sticky. Things must be indestructible—or at least darn close to it! It’s my job and mission to evaluate the way my clients live and make sure that what we’re selecting works for their environment—not just now, but long-term.”

Wolff ensures that her clients feel heard, appreciated and seen as they embark on the design process. “I tell every potential client, it’s your home,” the designer says. “I will give you my professional opinion and help you make good decisions, but if you really want something I might not choose, I’m not going to keep you from it. It’s my job to figure out how to make your home the best representation of you.”

Wolff has recently begun growing her business in Ohio, where she and her family are frequent visitors to grandparents and other extended family. “I have been able to tap into new sources for custom and hand-crafted items. “We are working with small businesses that are selling local versus imported goods, which is wonderful,” she enthuses, adding that for now, she prefers to keep her DC office as a boutique firm. “It’s the perfect size for this phase of my life.”
