Charles C. Almonte Architecture & Interiors
Charles C. Almonte, AIA, ASID
Following architecture school in his native Manila, Charles C. Almonte earned a master’s degree in historic preservation at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. “Living in a city where I didn’t know anyone was both exciting and intimidating,” he recalls. “It made me independent, resourceful and tenacious.”
Later, he moved to the Washington area, where he launched Charles C. Almonte Architecture & Interiors in 2008. Almonte and his two associates start each project with an in-depth meeting with clients to identify the scope of work and discuss their preferences and concerns, then create spaces that reflect their clients’ vision. “We aim to meet homeowners’ design needs and wants with functional and aesthetically pleasing solutions,” he explains. “While we designers may have our own aesthetic,” he reasons, “at the end of the day it is our clients who will be enjoying the structures and spaces we design for them.”
Educated and licensed as both an architect and an interior designer, Almonte brings a unique perspective to the table. “I can provide ideas for decorative enhancement, as well as solutions that reconfigure the architectural envelope of a building,” he relates.
Almonte was named a Home & Design “Hot Talent” designer in 2015; his projects have recently appeared in Home & Design and Northern Virginia magazines.
