With more than 50 years of collective experience, principals John Katinas and Michael Bruckwick bring varied strengths and perspectives to Katinas Bruckwick Architecture. Founded in 2004, the firm is LEED-accredited with an emphasis on energy conservation and sustainability. The 10-member firm is diverse and inclusive, boasting a wide variety of experience in all styles of architecture.

KBA’s high-caliber designs employ creative, functional and aspiring solutions that result in useful and inviting spaces. “Our dynamic approach encourages homeowner involvement through all stages of design and construction,” says Katinas. “Coordination with contractors and builders is vital to a successful project. We aim to cultivate an enjoyable and rewarding process for all involved.”

Projects by KBA may take advantage of a home’s existing features or commit to a complete transformation. “We capitalize on elements that are unique or key to the home’s appearance, flow and function,” Bruckwick explains. “We take clients’ criteria and inspiration and create designs that encompass their vision and feel like home.”

Both Katinas and Bruckwick grew up in DC and understand the fabric of the DC region; with this understanding comes the ability to push the envelope and apply forward-thinking solutions that respect their surroundings.
