Bartolomei & Co.
A desire to make an impact on peoples’ lives led Lisa Bartolomei to create her design firm, Bartolomei & Co., in 1986. She has been helping people find happiness in their homes ever since—in locales as far-flung as Jordan, Paris, Florida, Bermuda, California and New York. “I strive to create environments that emphasize comfort, usability and, of course, beauty,” she notes.
When a long-time client called and said, “I just bought a yacht and I need your help,” the designer jumped at the chance. “He wanted something unique,” she recalls, “not just another sleek, modern yacht.” Always up for a challenge, she and her client got to work—and created a floating jewel box.
The finished project conjures the warm and sophisticated atmosphere the client was looking for. “Like all our projects, this one was an adventure in combining knowledge, skill and resources,” says Bartolomei, who traveled between DC, New York and Miami searching for art, accessories and even custom china and glassware that would impart a “gentleman’s yacht” feel to the space. “We turned the Ariadne into a luxurious escape.”
Bartolomei & Co.’s work has been featured in Interior Design, Home & Design and The Washington Post. She has appeared on Good Morning America and ABC News.
