Stephanie Gamble Interiors
Inspired by her lifelong love for design, Stephanie Gamble opened her own interiors studio, as well as a furniture showroom, The House Downtown, in Baltimore in 2003. Since then, her shop has expanded to a larger location in Charm City’s Belvedere Square and she now employs four staff members who collaborate to create spaces for clients that are, in her words, “functional as well as beautiful.”
Gamble focuses on designing interiors so they will have the greatest impact, working closely with clients to give them a full understanding of the scope and timing of a project. She tries to decorate every home so that it reflects her clients’ lifestyle and aesthetic, selecting unique items that have special meaning for the homeowners to bring “soul” to space.
Interior architecture also helps make a statement. “Always start with good architecture,” she says. “If you have that, then you don’t need to do a lot of decorating. “
Gamble says her shop’s array of furniture, lighting, and accessories is an extension of the design aesthetic she brings to clients’ homes. “We are always classic but with a bit of an edge,” she explains. “I use fabrics and luxurious finishes in ways that are practical. But comfort is paramount.”
