Paul Mueller Jr., grew up inside the building industry, observing the company his father had founded in 1992. “I was inspired to carry on the company he worked his entire life to build, and to take it to the next level,” Mueller says. “I learned all aspects of the industry from the bottom up very early on.”
Today, Mueller and his team still rely on some of the same subcontractors from the company’s early days. “Loyalty to our clients and our entire team—including vendors and subcontractors—has been a cornerstone of our business and our principal approach since day one,” Mueller explains. “We are focused on keeping the process transparent, and this benefits everyone.”
A passion for building one-of-a-kind, handcrafted homes drove Mueller to move his company towards custom building in the luxury homes market. “I wanted to take something that is a dream and make it a reality for our clients,” he says.
Mueller Homes employs six full-time staff members, and builds five to eight homes a year throughout central Maryland. Projects range from 3,000 to 14,000 square feet and sell for anywhere from $500,000 to $4 million. The company has won numerous Gold awards from the Maryland Building Industry Association, and in 2016 received an Award of Excellence from the MBIA for a historic renovation on Main Street in Sykesville. Mueller Homes is part of the NAHB Builder 20 Club.
