With 75 percent of her clientele living on the water, designing waterfront homes has become a specialty of Gina Fitzsimmons. Principal of Annapolis-based Fitzsimmons Design Associates, she has been creating beautiful spaces on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay for more than 25 years—always ensuring that the views take center  stage. “It’s important not to detract from the focal point of the  waterfront as you frame the view with furnishings,” she explains.

Fitzsimmons describes her style as “Chesapeake cozy.” It’s a natural,  harmonious and tailored look that is comfortable, functional,  unpretentious and easy-going. She and her team begin by  gathering information about their clients’ functional needs,  aesthetic preferences, budget and time frame, and helping them set priorities. They then customize a style to fit the clients’ vision.  From presentation to final installation, they painstakingly study  how each piece interacts with the design, making selections that  will lead to the best possible results.

Gina Fitzsimmons is a professional member of ASID and is  NCIDQ-qualified. ASID recently awarded her first place for kitchen  and show house design and second place for residential design.  Her work has appeared in Chesapeake Views, Annapolis Home,  Home & Design  and The Baltimore Sun.
