Christopher Boutlier, Allied ASID

While growing up in the deep South, Christopher Boutlier pored over copies of Architectural Digest, discovering another world in the photos of glamorous homes. He eventually earned a master’s degree in interior design at The George Washington University and today specializes in designing homes and offices for prominent clients in the DC and New York areas.

Boutlier strives to create spaces that reflect his clients’ sense of style. “Our interiors are fresh and modern, yet elegant and restrained,” he says. “They combine old and new elements and are noted for arranging architectural details and objects in rhythmic progressions. We like to think of our work as a soothing antidote to the visual bombardment and clamor of everyday life.”

The designer’s lifelong passion for art plays a major role in many of his projects. “The majority of our clients are serious collectors or gallery owners,” says Boutlier. “With that comes the need for a designer who understands the collecting process and best practices for displaying works of art.”

Boutlier aims to create graceful, uncluttered sanctuaries amidst the bustle of daily life. “When my clients come home,” he reflects, “I want them to they know they are in a place uniquely reflective of their lifestyles and personalities.”
