Principals Paul Davey and Mark Giarraputo of Studio Z Design Concepts offer two strong yet complementary design philosophies to their clients. Both architects are typically involved in the design phase of each project, “and as much as we complement each other, we can also look at a concept and ask, ‘what if…’ to bring another perspective,” says Davey.

The sole focus of the firm is residential architecture. “We are fortunate to work with both custom and development-based clients,” explains Giarraputo. “That keeps us current with design elements and trends. Incorporating fresh amenities makes our homes memorable and marketable.” Hands-on building experience allows Studio Z to be very builder-friendly—resulting in efficient and economical solutions that put less financial emphasis on the structure and more on its finishes.

The partners stress the importance of site visits to ensure their plans are being executed correctly. “At the end of the day, it’s the clients’ home, not ours,” Davey observes. “We see our responsibility as listening to their dreams and vision and organizing them into a clear, concise floor plan that complements them and how they want to live.”
