Designer Erika Bonnell is fond of injecting projects with a dose of “approachable glamour” and drama—usually in the way of bold color. “We like to infuse color, personality and a touch of glam to create a home that is functional, comfortable and visually impactful,” she explains.
Since launching her firm in 2011, Bonnell and her two staff members have focused on creating welcoming havens, whether a client is tackling new construction, a whole-house makeover, a renovation or even a single room. They concentrate on getting to know clients in order to ensure that the end results of their work will best reflect their needs. “We believe interiors should not only be a unique reflection of our clients, they should also be designed to improve their health and lifestyle,” Bonnell contends. “Often, people don’t realize how the space they live in directly affects them, so that’s where we come in.”
The daughter of a decorator, Bonnell is adept at helping clients uncover a style that’s right for them. “A well-designed home should look effortless,” she says. “The personality of the clients should shine through so you can feel the soul and energy of those who reside there.” In the past year, her work has been published in Home & Design, Luxe and HGTV Magazine.
