With 75 percent of her clientele living on the water, designing waterfront homes has become a specialty for Gina Fitzsimmons. Founder and principal of Annapolis-based Fitzsimmons Design Associates, she’s been creating beautiful spaces on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay for more than 25 years—always ensuring that the views take center stage. “It’s important not to detract from those vistas as you frame them with interior architecture and furnishings,” she explains.
Fitzsimmons is looking forward to employing what she terms her “coastal-casual” aesthetic as she expands her business to Palm Harbor, Florida. She will be traveling regularly between there and Annapolis, designing for new and existing clients.
One of her new projects is an investment home in Palm Harbor, Florida, on an acre-and-a-quarter lakefront property on Lake Tarpon. “It has been a challenging project, planning, designing and budgeting,” she avers. “Stay tuned for photos of this beautiful project!”
Fitzsimmons always begins by gathering information about her clients’ functional needs, aesthetic preferences, budget and time frame, and helping them set priorities. She then customizes a style to fit their vision. From presentation to final installation, the designer painstakingly studies how each piece interacts with the design, making selections that will lead to the best possible results.
Gina Fitzsimmons is a professional member of ASID and is NCIDQ-qualified. ASID has honored her with first-place awards for kitchen and show house design and a second-place award for residential design. Her work has appeared in Chesapeake Views, Annapolis Home and Home & Design.
