Wiedemann Architects, LLC
Greg Wiedemann, FAIA
Associates: Felix Gonzalez, AIA, and Barbara Sweeney, AIA
Greg Wiedemann, FAIA, is principal of a nine-person architectural firm established in 1984. Blending the technical knowledge of an engineering education, a broad perspective gleaned from training in urban planning and a degree in architecture from Harvard, Wiedemann brings a holistic approach to his work.
He and his team strive to achieve design solutions that address the challenges and celebrate the uniqueness of each site and client’s aspirations, with attention to detail and a commitment to sustainability. The firm eschews one signature style. “Our new homes and seamless additions share one common goal: to achieve a timeless fit with their context,” Wiedemann says.
Projects include modest additions, new residences, apartment and penthouse renovations, farms and estates. In addition to the DC area and Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the firm works in Virginia, Delaware, New York, North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida and Maine.
Wiedemann Architects has received numerous design awards, including, most recently, two 2021 AIA Maryland awards for Excellence in Architecture for Interior Architecture and Residential Design; a 2021 AIA NoVa Design Excellence Award; and two 2021 AIA Chesapeake Design Awards for Historic Preservation and Residential Design. The project showcased on these pages includes more than 20 new and restored buildings, all part of a waterfront farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
