Principal Matt Ossolinski believes good architecture can only come from integrating the aspirations of a homeowner with the unique characteristics of a particular site.
“We started out by doing additions and renovations, so we’ve always treated existing conditions with great care,” Ossolinski explains. “We’ve stayed committed to this philosophy even as our projects have become larger and our clients’ needs evolved.”
Whether it’s a new house or an addition, work by Ossolinski Architects is wed to its setting and locale. “We do modern, but we won’t design a new house that looks out of place or a jarring addition,” says Ossolinski, who has more than 30 years of experience in the DC area.
The firm emphasizes a strongly collaborative approach among all parties. Its clients tend to be closely involved in all aspects of design; and general contractors and engineers are integrated early on. That way, costs, design and sustainability decisions can be developed in unison, facilitating smooth project management.
