Melissa Broffman Interior Design

Melissa Broffman, Allied ASID

Melissa Broffman, owner and principal of Melissa Broffman  Interior Design, creates interiors with character, comfort and timeless appeal. Broffman equally embraces traditional, eclectic, transitional and modern designs in projects ranging from interior  decorating to renovations and new-house construction. “I believe it’s all about making a house a home,” she says. “I strive to capture a one-of-a-kind look by incorporating personal treasures and family heirlooms that go beyond the retail sameness of today’s home-furnishings  market. My designs express each client’s unique personality.”

Prior to becoming a designer, Broffman—a self-described “people  person”—worked at CNN, where she dealt with all kinds of  people, including celebrities and newsmakers. “The experience taught me to express myself and see the big picture by observing,  listening and telling a story,” she comments. “In many ways, that’s what I do as a designer—I help create a narrative for my clients’ homes that they can live with, embellish and enjoy every day.”

Broffman recently completed the Bethesda home of Candy  Crowley; the master bath was featured in the Fall 2017 issue of Home & Design. Prior to that project, she decorated CNN chief  political correspondent Dana Bash’s Northwest DC home, which also appeared in Home & Design.
