Arentz Landscape Architects
Richard Arentz, ASLA
Arentz Landscape Architects primarily focuses on high-end residential and select boutique institutional projects such as niche hotels, private schools and museums. Founded in 1994 by principal Richard Arentz, the firm encompasses a staff of seven; they include Michael Rossetti, RLA; Patrick Carter, AIA; and Joe Sampsell, RLA, who manage offices in Rochester, New York; Washington, DC; and Warrenton, Virginia, respectively.
“We practice across a broad spectrum of scales from large estates to small urban gardens, developing big-picture relationships and focusing intensely on exacting details,” Arentz says. “Our award-winning work is very site-specific and tailored to clients’ needs. Consistency of design quality, consideration of scale and proportion, process and implementation are paramount to our firm.”
Aside from their DC-based work, the team is currently completing projects on both coasts of Florida and in Upstate New York, Pennsylvania and Nairobi, Kenya. Accolades include multiple ICAA John Russell Pope Awards for landscape design and numerous Potomac Chapter ASLA awards.
