Shannon Bieter Interiors

Shannon Bieter, ASID, IIDA

Shannon Bieter, who grew up in the South, has always had an appreciation for antiques and fabrics. In the 1990s when she was working for America Online’s lead production team, she was tasked with designing a break-out conference area—and that’s when she realized she wanted to pursue a career in commercial and residential design.

After studying at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, Bieter launched her firm 15 years ago. “I specialize in fresh, timeless décor using bold accents to give each room a signature look,” she says. “I love to create beautiful spaces for busy professionals and families who want balance and high-end, turnkey-ready rooms at the end of their day.”

As a mother, Bieter also understands that spaces need to be functional. “We live in a fast-paced urban area and it’s important for me to bring a sense of calm to the spaces I create,” she observes.

Bieter likes to combine old and new pieces to create a “collected” feel in every project. “I try to make each room unique. I incorporate family pieces into my projects to ensure the house has a personality and doesn’t look like a model home,” she explains.

Shannon Bieter’s work has been featured in The Washington Post, Home & Design and Avenel Living.
