Skip Sroka

Skip Sroka has been creating sophisticated, timeless interiors for more than 30 years. He is expert in translating the needs and desires of his clients into spaces that are beautiful, functional and blend harmoniously with the surrounding architecture. The finished product is comfortable yet elegant and stylish—truly a place to call home.

As principal of his eponymous firm, Sroka brings enthusiasm, ingenuity and skill to every project. “I have always been able to look at a space and see what it could become,” he reflects. “And my degree in industrial design gave me a strong foundation in how things are made; I understand how the trades work together to produce a high-quality product.” Indeed, his relationships with skilled artisans afford him access to the highest levels of craftsmanship.

With a staff of eight, Sroka Design is deeply involved in every step of the process, from initial concept drawings to final implementation. Says the designer, “We find elegant solutions so that every room in the house can function smoothly and efficiently.”

In 2020, a design by Sroka was featured in the book de Gournay: Hand-Painted Interiors. Other accolades include being named a Top 100 Designer in the prestigious Andrew Martin Interior Design Review; a top designer in Washingtonian; and a Designer of Distinction by Home & Design. He has received a National Capital Business Ethics award and a John Russell Pope award given by the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.

Sroka is a founding board member of Design Trust, Ltd., a professional association of interior design firm principals. Its members share knowledge and business methodologies to elevate the industry as it evolves in the modern world.
