Diana Lombard likens her early career in musical theater to her design work today. “As a trained singer, I brought the notes on a page to life through emotion and intention. Great interior design is similar,” she explains. “As an interior designer, I layer design elements such as color, texture, light and scale to create emotion and intention in a space.” Each home Lombard designs tells a story of who lives there. By thoroughly getting to know her clients, Lombard says, she is able to uniquely capture their personality and bring their home’s distinct character to life.
Lombard received a degree in interior design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York before launching her eponymous firm. With integrity, honesty and communication serving as core values, Lombard prides herself on building client relationships and objectively steering clients in the best direction for their project.
Since its founding in 2013, Diana Lombard Interiors has completed projects in DC, Virginia, New York and Texas. The firm is especially adept at managing large, complex jobs that marry renovation or new construction with interior furnishings. “The experience can be overwhelming for clients,” Lombard explains. “My job is to streamline the process and make it enjoyable and efficient for them. I save them time and money by avoiding costly mistakes and ensuring a smooth experience.”
Lombard continually finds inspiration in the materials of her craft as well as in the artisans who design and create them. “I never cease to be excited by the variety of interesting materials that I leverage to create a design palette,” she marvels.
Sharing her passion for design with clients brings Lombard joy. Presenting clients with new ideas they may never have considered allows Lombard to help them create “something truly unique for them and their space.”
