Hotel Las Balsas, a destination wellness retreat in Patagonia, has expanded with 10 new modern villas designed by DC-based architecture firm Shinberg Levinas. Cantilevered over the hillside, each villa is spatially oriented toward the landscape with expanses of glass to take advantage of panoramic views overlooking Lake Nahuel Huapi. Inside, the open-plan spaces contain golden-timber cladding and contemporary furnishings, lending a feeling of rustic luxury. Nearby, the main lodge offers an alpine-style dining room featuring Argentine cuisine using local ingredients, and a spa with a heated infinity pool.
