With year-round entertaining in mind, they specified a pool, cabana with overnight guest accommodations, an entertainment area, and parking.
The design was created for minimal impact on the waterway. Native plantings offset the increased lot coverage on the property, and hardscape was strategically designed to meet impervious requirements. A firm grasp of the local permitting ensured that they could stay one step ahead throughout the process.
Mass plantings of shrubs, perennials and grasses provide year-round color and texture. Trees were placed for vertical interest and unobstructed water views. Pennsylvania flagstone covers the pool patio, coping, walkways and wall caps.
Specializing in distinctive residential properties in Maryland, DC and the Eastern Shore, Walnut Hill’s mission is to provide exceptional value by delivering unparalleled craftsmanship.

The team began maintaining the property, which is located on the waterfront on Bodkin Point, Maryland, in 2007 and has been ensuring the property stays tidy, mowed and manicured ever since.
Horticultural services include irrigation management, deer control, hardscape pressure-washing, arbor care and chemical turf applications. The pool terrace and fireplace patio are Pennsylvania flagstone, the former laid on a concrete slab while the fireplace patio was tightly laid with stone dust. A woodland garden expands yearly with planting enhancements; sweeps of nepeta, achillea, fern and other deer-resistant plants are used. The driveway is paved with concrete pavers.
McHale Landscape Design is dedicated to designing and constructing extraordinary gardens, pools, outdoor living areas, and home additions. The company has won over 385 awards.
