Photographer Geoffrey Hodgdon captured this image of the Wye River on Maryland’s Eastern Shore on a steamy summer day. On assignment to photograph a log cabin on the property, he framed the shot overlooking Shaw Bay, with Bruff Island visible on the right. “Just upstream from here,” Hodgdon reflects, “is my all-time favorite spot to drop anchor when cruising in my sailboat.”
