Veteran designers launch a boutique in Old Town

Cachet Shop Talk

Once home to a tobacco warehouse, a revamped 1800s row house in Old Town Alexandria now houses a boutique, Home on Cameron. Two interior designers, Susan Nelson and former AmericanEye principal Todd Martz, recently opened the 2,133-square-foot shop to bring homeowners vintage and artisanal finds, custom furniture, lighting, textiles, accessories, and artwork.

“We try to find the things that can’t be found anywhere else,” notes Martz. “And Susan or I are always there if clients have questions. We want to build relationships.”

Home on Cameron showcases upholstered pieces, case goods, an eponymous collection of tables and curated artwork in attractive vignettes. Nelson and Martz also offer in-home design services. Says Martz, “We want to be a one-stop shop for ideas, education, and advice.”
