Douriean Fletcher:
Jewelry of the Afrofuture

April 18 - August 11

A trip to South Africa inspired Douriean Fletcher to design jewelry as a way to explore her identity and cultural heritage. Known for dramatic pieces made from natural materials, the California native has crafted jewelry worn by Queen Ramonda and the Dora Milaje in the Black Panther films. The Walters showcases these among many more of Fletcher’s creations, juxtaposed with some of the treasures that sparked her career.
