Name a hostess gift you’d like to receive.
The Maple Stick candles from Reed Smythe make a great gift.
Share a cherished holiday tradition.
Setting my Christmas Eve table with family heirlooms and fresh clippings is always a joy. I also love the long walks my family takes around Baltimore’s Loch Raven Reservoir.
Where do you escape for a winter reboot?
Keswick Hall in Charlottesville. The historic property is gorgeous, gracious and has some of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in. The candlelit dining and frost-covered morning fields lend it a festive atmosphere.
Favorite Baltimore restaurant?
Petit Louis Bistro has been around for so long but maintains a neighborhood feel. I always see someone I know there. My go-to order is the salmon with a salade verte to start—simple and fresh!
What recent read left a lasting impression?
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. The ironies, challenges and values it explores are timeless.
What local museum do you haunt?
The Walters Art Museum is particularly inviting to me since a portion of it was formerly a home. There is so much to see in the permanent collection and its curated shows.
Name a product you can’t wait to try.
Wallpaper is having a moment. One of my favorites is Fornasetti's playful, deeply saturated Frutto Proibito pattern by Cole & Son, available at Lee Jofa. It’s going into the foyer and up the open staircase of a vintage Roland Park home I’m designing.
