Rooms With a View Welcome Approach Christine Dayton designed a contemporary farmhouse atop a gentle, grassy slope on picturesque Porter Creek near St. Michaels. “The original home on the site was razed and this new home was sited to provide a more welcoming approach and broaden the view of the creek,” says Dayton. In the great room, a stone fireplace provides a gathering spot, but a wall of windows framed by contemporary-style, stained-oak casings makes the water view, punctuated by stands of trees, the focal point. Matching oak beams and trim give the room a unified look.
