One crisp morning last fall, Michael Weiss joined friends on a boat trip to Baltimore. After breakfast in Fells Point, they headed for the Inner Harbor. “I was struck by the diversity of the skyline, which combined old and new architecture as well as commercial and residential buildings,” says Weiss, a Silver Spring, Maryland, photographer who also happens to be a NASA engineer. “The sky was especially clear that day, so there was a nice contrast. I was piloting the boat, but had to take a camera break to capture the harbor.”
