Next-Level Kitchens: Bonnie Ammon

Lakefront marvel

While reimagining the interiors of an abode on Virginia’s Lake Anna, Bonnie Ammon tackled the 1990s kitchen, dominated by a tiered, L-shaped island beneath an obtrusive bulkhead. “The new vision was clean lines, timeless materials and tons of storage,” says Ammon, who removed the bulkhead and traded out the problematic island for one 10-foot-long with a cooktop, food prep and seating for eight.

Welcome additions include a huge walk-in pantry; a sleek bar area that replaced an unused desk; and Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances. Custom cabinetry is paired with marble countertops and a ceramic-tile backsplash. Armac hardware and Visual Comfort pendants lend pizazz.
