With the opening this spring of DéCOR (The Design Center of Richmond), shopping for the home will be an entirely new experience. The center will showcase products and services offered by dozens of interior designers and specialists in kitchen design, closet design, painting, draperies, furniture, cabinetry, fabrics, flooring, lighting and more.
DéCOR was conceived by the owners of Richmond’s Chasen Galleries, Andrew Chasen and Marc Cates, who felt the lack of an industry hub in Richmond. The partners purchased a 5,600-square-foot historic building in the bustling Carytown shopping district (also home to Chasen Galleries), recruited some of the top names in the design community, and launched DéCOR.
“We wanted to bring the design community to the client for one-stop shopping,” says Cates. “It will be open to the public, not just the trade, and will be the go-to place for expert design consultations, and for the best that the furniture, flooring and accessories markets have to offer.” DéCOR is located at 19 South Belmont Street.
