DC interior designer Mary Douglas Drysdale was tasked with a whole-house renovation, the cramped, dark kitchen posed a challenge. On the owners’ wish list: greater efficiency; open counter space; a comfortable eating area; surfaces for artwork; and less focus on individual appliances.
