The owners of a waterfront property near Annapolis approached Alt Breeding Schwarz Architects with a unique proposition: Design a residence and adjacent guesthouse while they inhabited an original cottage on site.
The architects created a master plan for a large shingle-style home connected to the guesthouse via an enclosed bridge. Once the main house was complete, the cottage was removed and the guesthouse built in its place.
Today, the family and their guests enjoy all aspects of this one-of-a-kind, classically styled residence. Among the highlights are a family gathering room off the kitchen that acts as a hub to the office, homework room and family dining area. The home also embraces 360-degree views of the surrounding waters.
