Fine Earth Landscape

Distinction Award—Total Residential Contracting

Founded in 1977, Fine Earth Landscape brings experience, reliability and resources to creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor environments.

Hired to create a formal garden on a blank-slate property, Fine Earth Landscape first had to meet the challenge of re-grading the property. The rear yard was raised 11 feet to be level with the first floor using a Keystone segmental-block wall system. Winter jasmine was planted at the top and hydrangea and magnolia at the bottom create a green screen for the wall. A patio and small outdoor kitchen anchor one end of the rear yard. A large, rectangular panel of lawn begins at the patio and ends at a sitting area under an arbor on the other side. Formal plantings bring color with lots of greenery.

DESIGN FEATURES

  • A challenging grade change and extensive compaction of soil were needed to support the new backyard
  • The back planting buffer utilized plants to create both screening and texture
  • A flagstone patio and perfectly sized outdoor kitchen were installed
