Kimpton Hotels recently unveiled the chic new Lorien Hotel & Spa in Old Town Alexandria. Noted interior designer Vicente Wolf has created modern interiors that respect the city’s historic charm. Bathrooms juxtapose contemporary vanities in gray stone with elegant claw-foot tubs. The Lorien is also home to the restaurant BRABO by Robert Wiedmaier. Designed by Gary Inman of Glavé & Holmes Associates in Richmond to reflect the hotel’s provenance, the 1,700-square-foot retreat boasts a bedroom  that opens to an octagonal study.
