Innovative products bring new dimension to bath time

The lavish bath pictured here presents the Lineare Tortora line of rectified porcelain tiles by Roberto Cavalli Home. Walls, wainscot and floor are all clad in the tile, which comes in a range of sizes and shades. The designer’s signature can be laser cut into any tile. Available in the DC area exclusively through Creative Concepts.

Axor by Hansgrohe has teamed with designer Philippe Starck to produce the minimalist Axor Starck Organic Faucet, part of the recently debuted Axor Starck Organic Collection. Separate controls for water volume and temperature allow for better control, while a pioneering spray pattern lowers the flow rate for less water consumption.

Graff’s Ametis Collection, designed by Davide Oppizzi of DCUBE, now includes a sleek, curvy shower system with a bonus: LED chromatherapy lights—in different colors—integrated into the showerhead that provide for a soothing halo effect. The fluid design is available in a black or white finish and in matte or polished chrome.

New Ravenna’s Delft Collection by Sara Baldwin derives from 17th-century Dutch delftware, which was originally inspired by delicate Chinese porcelain that had made its way west. Baldwin has created a new series of five hand-cut, jewel-glass mosaics in blue and white palettes.

For those who don’t want to stray from their tub once they’re in it, MTI Baths has created a streamlined, modern tub table that adds convenience and uncluttered style to the bathroom. Made of engineered solid stone, the table is moveable, with rubber feet to keep it from sliding.

Introduced at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in 2012, the Eau Soaking Tub by Stone Forest is hand-carved from a solid block of Carrara or Luna Bianca Marble. The four-foot-tall tub features an integrated seat and a deep inner basin for full immersion. Pictured here with the Wave Pedestal and Roma Vessel Sink; all are shown in Carrara marble.

Azrama—meaning “retreat and refresh” in Sanskrit—is a fitting name for the new spa collection of bath products in teak, metal and natural stone by Clodagh for Porcelanosa. Azrama by Clodagh features a sculptural tub and sink made of natural stone, and a teak bench, towel rack and vanity base. Pictured here, the stone Azrama tub.

Indus glazed porcelain represents a new progression in Italian design: It imitates neither wood nor stone, yet suggests a hint of both. Pictured here on floors and walls, it comes in a range of formats and three colors; it is suitable for all residential applications. Available at Best Tile.

Steamist’s Total Sense Home Spa System is a customizable collection of spa amenities for the home. In addition to a steam bath, the system offers supplementary options such as aromatherapy, chromatherapy and in-shower audio. It operates via touchscreen controls with pre-programmed user profiles and may include Bluetooth technology for wireless audio and a mobile app that activates the system from a smartphone or tablet.
